Kazaners as created in Russia are considered by Russians to be extinct. They have not been seen in the show hall for 30 years. For Americans wishing to recreate the Kazaner from the mix of Russian breeds that are in the USA and Canada, it is important to study the Kazaner standard and manage their breeding program accordingly.

There are many Statnie breeds of pigeons, just like there are many Pouter breeds of pigeons. These breeds were created in the former Soviet Union. Some are highfliers, some are performers and some are bred for the show hall. When properly entered on the Rare Breeds List, these birds will appear in the Flying-Fliers category, the Flying-Performers category and the AOV-Structure category. It is important to study the standard for each Statnie breed since many of these breeds have been crossed with each other in the USA and Canada in the past. The RBPC is committed to making translations of the Russian Standards for these available to all interested fanciers. As Standards for these breeds become available, breeders should be able to sort out the crosses in their lofts and work to reestablish the features that made each one of the Russian breeds unique. The Statnie breeds of pigeons are divided into three categories: the Voslokrile (viz-lo-kril-ww), the Trisuni (tro-soo-nee) and the Cachurs (ka-choo-nee). The three categories appear below with the breeds that belong is that category listed below them. The description of the characteristics that make each one of the three categories unique is listed beneath each heading. The breeds listed under each heading are breeds that are believed to be in the USA and Canada.
